What we verify
We prioritize primary sources: government agencies, utilities, program administrators, manufacturers and recognized certification bodies. A source must be relevant to the claim, dated when timing matters and traceable from the published page.
For technical specifications, we check the exact product or matched-system record where possible. For incentives, we check the current program administrator rather than relying on an old summary.
What we do not claim
We do not invent laboratory tests, reliability scores, customer ratings, rebate availability or contractor coverage. A broad planning range is labeled as an editorial orientation, not a quote or guaranteed local price.
We do not treat an affiliate retailer listing as a manufacturer specification or a contractor proposal.
Review and correction
Material changes trigger an update of the reviewed date. Readers, manufacturers and contractors can report a factual issue through our contact and corrections route; evidence is assessed before content changes.
