Federal rule · reviewed July 8, 2026

Do not budget a 25C or 25D credit into a 2026 project.

Current IRS guidance says the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit does not apply to property placed in service after December 31, 2025, and the Residential Clean Energy Credit does not apply to expenditures after that date. State, Tribal and utility rebates follow separate rules and may still exist.
