Marketplace integrity

Verification comes before visibility.

Payment does not create a verified badge. CoolCompare separates eligibility review, homeowner matching and clearly labeled commercial placement.

Entry gates

Six checks before activation.

Requirements can vary by trade and jurisdiction. Approval is never automatic and may be limited to specific services or ZIP codes.

01

Business identity

Legal business name, operating contact and service-area identity must be consistent.

02

License scope

State and local credentials are reviewed where the trade and jurisdiction require them.

03

Insurance evidence

Submitted coverage, named business and expiration dates must be reviewable.

04

Trade and ZIP fit

A contractor is considered only for project types and service areas it has declared and CoolCompare has accepted.

05

Proposal standard

Equipment identity, labor, permits, commissioning, exclusions, warranties and pricing must be presented clearly.

06

Contact conduct

Homeowners may be contacted only for the request and permissions they submitted.

Status lifecycle

A badge is a dated status—not a permanent promise.

Documents, service coverage and marketplace conduct can change. Profiles may move between states while evidence is reviewed.

  1. 01ApplicantSubmitted; not listed or verified.
  2. 02Under reviewEvidence and scope are being checked.
  3. 03ActiveEligible only for accepted trades and areas.
  4. 04Review dueTime-sensitive evidence requires refresh.

Matching and ranking

What determines who may appear.

Availability is checked at the time of a homeowner request. Three proposals are a maximum, not a guarantee.

ELIGIBILITY

Required before ranking

  • Accepted trade and ZIP coverage
  • Current review status
  • Project timing and system fit
  • Capacity to receive the request
RELEVANCE

Used for matching

  • Project-category fit
  • Service-area proximity
  • Proposal completeness
  • Homeowner’s stated needs
COMMERCIAL

Always separated

  • Sponsored placement is labeled
  • Payment cannot bypass verification
  • Commission terms do not change homeowner pricing claims
  • Organic and sponsored positions remain distinguishable
Homeowner control

Your request is not an open lead auction.

Contact details are routed only under the consent shown on the request form.

  1. 01One defined project request
  2. 02Up to three eligible matches
  3. 03No guaranteed coverage
  4. 04Separate marketing permission
  5. 05Clear correction and complaint route
  6. 06Homeowner chooses whether to proceed
COMPARE THE WORK, TOO

Verification does not replace proposal review.

Normalize equipment, permits, electrical work, commissioning, exclusions, warranty and total cost before signing.
