Sources and verification
We prefer manufacturer manuals, official product documents, government guidance, regulators and other primary sources. Material numeric claims must have a source and relevant date.
Product specifications are marked with a verification date. A retailer listing alone is not treated as proof of independent testing.
Reviews and recommendations
CoolCompare does not claim hands-on testing unless it actually occurred and the method is described. Editorial scores, if introduced, will use a versioned methodology and will never be presented as customer aggregate reviews.
Commercial commission is not an editorial score. Sponsored placement must be labelled and cannot silently replace an independent ranking.
AI-assisted work
Automation may assist research structure, consistency checks and drafting, but publication requires human editorial review. Automatically generated or lightly rewritten third-party material is not acceptable.
Corrections
Readers, manufacturers and installers can submit a correction. We review evidence, record material changes and update the visible review date. Legitimate corrections do not require a commercial relationship.
