Treat AC water as a location and safety problem first.

Cooling systems remove moisture. Water can come from a blocked or damaged drain, pan, pump, frozen coil or installation issue, but the visible puddle alone does not establish the cause.

Safe first observations

Do only what stays outside the equipment.

These steps collect useful evidence. They are not electrical, refrigerant, combustion or internal mechanical repair instructions.

Drain path

A restriction, poor slope, disconnected fitting or termination issue may prevent normal condensate removal.

Pan or pump

A damaged pan, failed condensate pump or unsafe overflow arrangement can allow water to escape.

Frozen coil

Ice that melts can overwhelm the drain area; the underlying airflow or refrigeration problem still needs diagnosis.
