Cooling systems remove moisture. Water can come from a blocked or damaged drain, pan, pump, frozen coil or installation issue, but the visible puddle alone does not establish the cause.

Ask the contractor to distinguish drain, pan, pump, coil icing and unrelated plumbing or roof moisture.
Confirm the applicable float switch, auxiliary pan and termination arrangement.
The scope should state how drainage and system operation will be verified after repair.
